All About Your Hero Product Face Primer

Prep and prime

I bought my first primer after the graduation of professional make-up course. That was from NYX and I didn't like it for its heavy thick texture, but I could recommend MUFE primers. I have to admit that it took time to get to use to wearing it and I still don`t use it for my everyday make-up. Wearing primer means putting the additional amount of chemicals on your face. Have you noticed, that natural cosmetics brands hardly ever sell primers? Don't try to find anything natural among their ingredients. However, a good primer can be your hero product in those cases when you want to achieve perfect make-up look. Note: I't not a natural-everything fanatic at any means.

What is primer?

I smooths the skin in preparation for foundation. A good primer prolongs the lasting power of your make-up.

What does primer do?

It depends on the primer you choose. Usually primers contain particles that reflect light, prevent make-up form smudging and help to fill in the lines, e.g. softens crow's feet. They can also reduce oil in your T zone, minimize the appearance of pores and brighten your skin.

Why you need one?

• If you have oily T zone,

• visible pores or wrinkles, if you want to enable your make-up to stay longer,

• if your foundation doesn't absorb properly into your skin,

• if your finished look doesn't appear 'clean and neat'.

Which primer to choose?

Green color primers neutralize your face redness, white primers illuminate your skin, rose primers make it look younger, lilac primers brighten sallow skin.

How to wear it?

Primers prepare your skin for make-up as well as moisturizer, serum, or tonic. Tone your face with toner, hydrate with a moisturizer or repair with serum and then prep skin with primer. Make sure other products don't contradict with your primer, for example, are supposed to use different skin type. The best option to choose the same brand for your moisturizer, foundation and primer. You will achieve the best result.

Where do you need to apply it?

Pea size of primer is enough for your T zone. You can use mattifying primers on top of your make-up by patting it onto your face. It't a perfect alternative to powder.
